Since May 2019, the new targets for indoor air quality have been
entered into force. The general principle is that employees must have good indoor air quality. The old objective only foresaw that “sufficient fresh air” had to be available and said nothing about tackling possible sources of pollution.

The new objective obliges the employer to carry out a risk analysis of indoor air quality in order to identify contaminants and possible risks.
Possible sources of pollution are: -The presence and physical activity of persons
-The products and materials present in the workrooms
(e.g. building materials, flooring, furniture, printers, etc.)
-Maintenance, repair and cleaning of workplaces
-Quality of air supplied as a result of infiltration and ventilation
