Automation Business Development Engineer

Key Responsibilities
• Grow automation sales and exceed targets by leveraging product expertise and market knowledge.
• Act as the main contact for strategic customers, liaising closely with WEG’s global sales and engineering teams.
• Evaluate customer specifications and provide quotations, technical guidance, and first-class customer support.
• Proactively follow up on quotations and monitor projects through to completion.
• Create Bills of Materials (BOM) and ensure our database is accurate and up-to-date.
• Support the order entry team when needed to ensure orders are 100% accurate in the system.

Essential Requirements
• Minimum 3 years of experience in automation systems, ideally within the Belgian OEM market.
• Strong knowledge of variable speed drives (VSDs), Soft Starters, control systems, and control panels.
• Familiarity with industrial communication protocols and rotating machines.
• Technical qualification (Bachelor’s or Master’s degree) in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• Excellent communication skills (English required; Dutch and French highly desirable).
• Strong teamwork, organizational, and customer service skills.
• IT Proficiency: Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems (e.g., SAP).
• Flexible, proactive, and results-driven mindset.

Desirable Skills
• Knowledge of medium-voltage automation applications.
• PLC programming and energy efficiency calculations.
• Understanding of EMC directives, harmonics, and machinery safety.
• Knowledge of motors, gearboxes, and the transmission market.
