Process safety engineer
Your responsibilities:
Lead and facilitate HAZOP and LOPA studies to identify and mitigate risks in industrial processes.
Conduct in-depth risk analyses (e.g., HAZOP, LOPA, FMEA) and deliver clear, actionable recommendations.
Facilitate multidisciplinary workshops, encouraging open dialogue, brainstorming, and collaboration.
Ensure a balance between thoroughness and efficiency during studies, with precise and well-documented outcomes.
Identify process deviations and propose preventive and mitigating measures.
Support the sales team by spotting commercial opportunities and contributing to technical proposals.
Help build a new process safety service line within TÜV AUSTRIA Belgium, in close collaboration with our competence center in Austria.
Who are you?
You hold a Master’s degree in Engineering (e.g., industrial or civil) or have equivalent experience.
You have several years of experience conducting process safety studies in the (petro)chemical or related industries.
You are proficient in HAZOP/LOPA methodologies and/or other risk assessment techniques.
You have excellent communication skills and can confidently lead and moderate group discussions.
You are analytical, structured, and solution-oriented.
You are fluent in Dutch and English (written and spoken); knowledge of French is a plus.

Inspector of Steam and Pressure Equipment
For the launch of our new service within TÜV AUSTRIA Belgium, we are looking for a Steam and Pressure Equipment Inspector. You will be responsible for helping to develop this service and, in time, taking the lead in its management. What will you do? You will carry out periodic inspections of steam equipment, as well as inspections upon commissioning or after repairs. You will independently handle inspection assignments and report your findings. You will perform inspections aimed at identifying corrosion, erosion, and other forms of material degradation.
