Energy saving thanks to fan upgrade
Individuals and companies around the world are trying to save energy and reduce their carbon footprint. And Liège Airport wanted to make its contribution, so an energy saving initiative was launched to reduce the environmental impact of this Belgian airport.

Optimal indoor climate achieved with reduced energy consumption and CO2 emissions
The amount of energy required to create a comfortable indoor climate for passengers, shopkeepers and employees is enormous. Liège Airport has recently modernized its passenger terminal air conditioning units with the help of Munters. Two extraction units were upgraded and one fan unit was replaced, significantly reducing electricity consumption and CO2 emissions.

20 tons less CO2 emissions and a payback period of 31 months
Munters solution was to upgrade two NA 2003 units and replace a RZR 15-1000 dual inlet radial fan with 6 EC fans. Thanks to the redundancy of the ventilators, Liège Airport was able to safeguard activities in the passenger area.

Munters’ experience and Liège Airport’s desire to reduce its carbon footprint made this project a complete success. CO2 emissions were reduced by around 20 tons per year, with a payback period of 31 months.
