Smart Maintenance demos in the spotlight

Discover the future of smart maintenance at the Smart Maintenance Demo Zone!

At the Smart Maintenance Demo Zone, experience how advanced technologies are making industry safer, more efficient and sustainable. From inspections with drones in confined spaces by Terra Inspectioneering, to real-time monitoring of infrastructure with fibre-optic sensors by Fluves. Experience how Sorama visualises sound to detect leaks and defects, and discover ITIS‘ revolutionary in-situ testing method for testing breathing valves (PVRV) and explosion covers (ERV) on atmospheric storage tanks.

Don’t miss our demonstrations and see for yourself how these innovations minimise downtime and optimise maintenance!

The Knowledge and Innovation Centre for Maintenance in the Process Industry is an independent cooperative association. KicMPi encourages cooperation between companies with the aim of innovating maintenance in the process industry. Our members consist of both asset owners and service providers. Bringing supply and demand together is our strength. By working together on innovation, industrial companies and service companies can achieve more.

Scan. Print. Fix.  Lay3rs demonstrates how to use 3D scanning + engineering 3D printing to quickly create maintenance solutions: from replacement parts to tooling and protectors. With the best 3D printers, our AMPC Printfarm cabinet, drying cabinet and ESD-safe materials we demonstrate a complete workflow for service & maintenance, including inspiring examples and case studies.

Every maintenance manager recognises the moment when something is not right. A system sounds different, energy consumption increases, but the cause remains invisible. With acoustic inspection, Sorama makes that moment earlier and more concrete.

Our acoustic cameras make audible and ultrasonic sound visible. This gives maintenance teams immediate insight into leaks and mechanical abnormalities, without downtime and without physical risk. During Maintenance Antwerp, we will demonstrate how to locate even very small compressed air and gas leaks, even in potentially explosive environments.

In combination with Boston Dynamics’ SPOT inspection robot, inspections are moving to places that are difficult to reach or unsafe for humans. Our demo wall shows how an invisible leak becomes visible within seconds and how inspection shifts from searching to targeted intervention.

Sorama supports maintenance managers in limiting energy loss, preventing unexpected downtime and ensuring reliable operation of installations, even under harsh conditions.

Sprout is a soft robot that grows like a plant and is designed for inspections in confined, complex and hard-to-reach environments. With a base diameter of 8 cm, it can squeeze through openings as small as 5 cm and offers full 3D mobility, including vertical climbing and working against gravity.

Sprout is completely flexible, can bend in any direction and navigate 90-degree turns, winding paths and irregular geometries. It can be extended hundreds of metres, enabling in-depth inspections without dismantling or shutdown. The load capacity is proportional to the diameter: the 8 cm version supports up to 500 grams, while variants with a larger diameter can carry heavier tools.

All inspection data is processed via XiniX Forge, a platform that seamlessly integrates advanced AI capabilities into existing workflows and databases. Using pre-trained and customisable AI models, XiniX Forge automatically detects defects such as cracks, corrosion and weld anomalies, generates statistics and produces automated inspection reports. An LLM-powered interface enables users to query results and retrieve insights in a conversational manner, supporting rapid, data-driven assessment of asset condition.
